Many minor conditions are diagnosed and treated by your optometrist. However, more serious conditions need to be referred appropriately to either your GP or an ophthalmologist. Your optometrist is highly trained to examine your eyes and detect any signs of concern. This allows for the most appropriate treatment or referral pathway to be followed.
